The committee is in charge of  all matters relating to the process of decentralization and devolution; effective allocation among the different local government units of their respective powers, functions, responsibilities, and resources, on strengthening mechanism to ensure the accountability of local government units to their respective constituents to continually upgrade the quality of local leadership; all matters relating to political subdivisions, municipalities and barangays, rural, community development.
